Youth Gallery Tours
Over 3,000 students from the Bay Area visit Bedford Gallery each year. Our talented Volunteer Docents lead students on a 1-hour, age-appropriate gallery tour of our current exhibition followed by a hands-on art project.
Days & Times
Youth Tours are offered every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 9:30 AM and 11 AM.
To schedule a tour outside of our regular availability, please fill out this request form.
Levels
We welcome school groups, grades K-12, as well as scout troops, camps, clubs and other youth groups.
Cost
$85 per group (scholarships are available).
FREE for Contra Costa schools through generous funding from our nonprofit partner Diablo Regional Arts Association (DRAA)!
Art in a Suitcase
Our trained Volunteer Docents bring the visual arts to you in this unique, in-classroom experience!
Equipped with a specially designed suitcase containing art supplies, our trained experts lead students through an art project and teach about the elements of art and art history.
Available workshops:
- Color is Cool- Merge art and science with hands-on color mixing experimentation and painting activities.
- Make My Mark- Explore the expression of rhythm, movement and emotion using one element of art... LINE!
- The Color Poem Book- Create a book that explores feelings through color and poetry.

Grades 2-5
Cost
$85 per classroom. BG requests schools schedule 2 classrooms together (totaling $170 per school).
