About

The works in this exhibition capture the vibrancy of the emerging abstract movements during the 1960s and 70s, including Abstract Expressionism, Minimalism, Op Art, and Pop art. This show features an extraordinary collection of works on paper by artists now widely recognized as giants of 20th century art: Josef Albers, Max Ernst, Helen Frankenthaler, Ellsworth Kelly, Roy Lichtenstein, Joan Miró, Robert Motherwell, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, Ed Ruscha, Frank Philip Stella, and others.

This exhibition is organized by the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Kalamazoo, Michigan.

In addition to the exhibition, Bedford Gallery will offer workshops and programming that are open to the public.

    Join a guided tour of Walnut Creek’s prolific downtown public art collection. From original murals to functional art, this 45-minute walking tour highlights this acclaimed Bay Area collection followed with free entry to the exhibition.
  4. Cocktails & Conversation with Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Director of Curatorial Affairs Rehema C. Barber Williams

    Join Rehema C. Barber Williams, the Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, as she dives deep into the Collins Collection, exploring how it was passionately gathered by the Collins family and ultimately bequeathed to the institution.
