free tours
About 2,000 children visit Bedford Gallery with their teachers each year. Our talented group of volunteer docents tour children from the entire Bay Area, completing each visit with a stimulating art project. We welcome children from grades K-12. Tours are $85 per group and scholarships are available. Thanks to a new grant from Diablo Regional Arts Association, tours for schools in Contra Costa County scheduled starting November 1, 2012, are now free!

Tours are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 9:30 and 11:00 am. Other days and times may be available by special arrangement. Tours are normally limited to 30 students.

Chaperone Policy (School and other children's groups under the age of 12)
One adult per six children, minimum. Adults accompanying children's groups are responsible for supervising children at all time. Additional adults are welcome to join.

Cancellation Policy
A two-week notice is required to receive a refund. There are no refunds for cancellations of school tours made during vacations.

Art in a Suitcase: The Art of Making Books
The Bedford is offering special workshops to show students how to make books that fly, fold, wrap, hide, twist, and turn. This one hour workshop presented in your classroom will focus on using recycled materials and everyday objects. $85 per session.

Arts Access Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships covering tour fees and transporation costs are available through the Arts Access program of the Diablo Regional Arts Association. To read more about applying for a scholarship, visit the DRAA website.

Our programs are flexible; we will work to meet special needs.
