Bedford is committed to community involvement and sponsors a variety of programs with the region’s diverse audiences in mind.

Docent Guided Tours
Our talented group of volunteer Docents take children and adult groups from all over the area and complete each visit with a stimulating art project (for the kids) and provide valuable insight and aid in thought provoking discussions among our adult patrons—a truly enlightening experience.

Artists Workshops at Bg
A unique series of one-time workshops run by professional artists who will teach you some new tricks and techniques for your studio toolbox. The artist presenters are diverse in medium and approach to art-making, and have included nationally known book artist Sas Colby, master ceramist Nancy Selvin, textile expert Lori Goldman, crafter Emily Sevier and nationally renown sculptor Ann Weber.

Annual Bg Craft Fest
In November, the Bedford hosts an extravaganza of handmade items from textiles and quilts, jewelry, ceramics and indie graphics. The Fest includes 25 cool crafters from the East Bay and beyond who set up shop inside the gallery for an afternoon of unique holiday shopping. Our 2013 Craft Fest will be held on Sunday, November 3 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Art in a Suitcase
The Bedford Gallery designed and piloted Art in a Suitcase. This exciting program sends docents into local schools with a suitcase that contains all the supplies to complete an art project. Each suitcase focuses on a specific genre or art project.
